Assam Governor Jagadish Mukhi and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal condoled the untimely demise of Union Minister Ananth Kumar on Monday.
"I am deeply grieved to learn about the demise of Ananth Kumar, a prudent and popular leader in Indian public life who was a great asset for the country," the Governor said in a statement here.
His death is bound to create a void which will be hard to fill as he was a multi-faceted personality who contributed greatly to public welfare, Mukhi said.
Sonowal, in a statement, described Kumar's death as a "personal loss as much as it is to the nation. A prudent and able public figure, his untimely demise at the age of 59 years, will definitely create a void."
