Assam govt committed to making state sports capital : Sonowal

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today said his government was commited to making the state the sports capital of the country and adequate funds have been earmarked for welfare of youths in the 2017-18 budget.
"The future of the nation depends on how positively we channelize the power of the youth. The state government is committed to provide best possible opportunities to youths to exploit their abilities," Sonowal said after laying the foundation stone of Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha Cultural and Sports Complex in Assam's Dibrugarh district.
He hoped that the project would provide better opportunities to youths for harnessing their talent in the field of culture and sports.

He also appreciated the sporting talents among the youth of the tea tribe community and called for coordinated effort from all sections of the society in taking them forward.
He also highlighted the anti-corruption measures taken by the government to ensure a responsible and accountable administration in the state.
