In a fresh twist to the road rage incident, a purported audio clip today surfaced where the woman who was hit by a brick by a traffic policeman is heard allegedly abusing him and not presenting her licence and other documents despite repeated demands.
Although the clip suggests that there was a heated argument between the woman and the Delhi Traffic Police head constable Satish Chandra, it does not support the victim's claim that he had asked for a bribe of Rs 200 from her.
Chandra was arrested and a criminal case filed against him after a video clip surfaced showing him attacking the young woman on Monday with a brick. He was later dismissed from service.
The 44-second audio clip was made by Chandra. He has submitted the clip to the officers investigating the case. Police has sent the audio clip to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to establish its authenticity and ensure that it was not tampered with.
In the clip, which surfaced today and went viral on social media, Chandra is heard asking for licence and Registration Certificate from the woman.
He is telling her that if she cannot produce the desired documents, he would issue a challan. The woman argues that she will not give money in his hand to which the head constable says that he will issue a "court" challan.
Asked about the audio clip, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi said that whatever was relevant would be taken into account during investigation.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon, when Ramandeep Kaur (30) was returning home with her three daughters from Guru Harkrishan Public School after attending a parents-teachers meeting.
