An Australian man has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau here for allegedly possessing about 3 kg of narcotics, a senior official said Thursday.
He said the man, who has not yet been identified, was apprehended on October 30 with 2.9 kg of 'hashish' or cannabis resin from the Paharganj area of the national capital.
The man, a native of Israel, had come to India on a medical visa in September, the official said.
He is a citizen of Australia and has been arrested under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, he said.
The drug was sourced from Himachal Pradesh, the official added.
