Delhi Pradesh Taxi Union and Delhi Autorickshaw Sangh stated that they will sit on an indefinite dharna outside the residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal if ruling AAP failed to rein in app-based taxi services in the national capital within a week's time.
"App-based taxis are affecting our business. Despite the fact that their operation is illegal, the government is not taking any action against them. We want all app-based taxis to be brought under fare-meter system so that we have a fair competition," Rajendra Soni, General Secretary of both unions, said.
Around 82,000 autorickshaws and 13,000 yellow-black taxis are at present plying in the national capital.
