The jacket went under the hammer for Rs 6.5 lakhs and the 69-year-old actor donated another Rs 11 lakhs to contribute to the total of Rs 5.81 crores raised for Tiger Conservation by the NDTV-Aircel 12 hour Live telethon held here Sunday.
His son Abhishek too donated Rs 11 lakhs, while forest guards at Ranthambore contributed their day's salary to the cause.
The campaign attracted support from many other artistes, including Pankaj Udhas, Swanand Kirkire, Kailash Kher, Sunidhi Chauhan, John Abraham, Purab Kohli, Kunal Kapoor, Rahul Bose and Karan Johar.
"Every time you destroy a tiger, you destroy a part of country. I am glad that NDTV has taken an initiative to address this concern. I'm glad to be associated with Save Our Tigers campaign," said Bachchan.
