Bahuguna asks officials not to harass consumers

Holding a review meeting with Civil Supply Department officials and representatives of gas agencies here, he asked them to bear in mind state's difficult geographical situation and convenience of consumers in hill areas in the course of the drive.

Asking them not to unnecessarily harass consumers, the Chief Minister said closed connections should be immediately resumed if no discrepancy was found during verification.

He asked the Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, to hold meetings with dealers from time to time and review how the exercise was being carried out.

The meeting was told that subsidised cylinders would be issued till March 31 next to connections transferred after the death of father, spouse or other relatives.
