Newly-appointed Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa today alleged the SAD-BJP government in the state was pursuing anti-people and anti-poor policies and vowed to fight these tooth and nail.
On his first visit to the city after taking over reins of the Punjab Congress, he alleged the state government was neck deep in corruption and the common man's life had become miserable.
The law and order had deteriorated in the state and anti-social elements were ruling the roost, Bajwa alleged.
The Congress would play the role of a responsible opposition and would corner the SAD-BJP government on all issues relating to the people of Punjab, Bajwa said.
The reshuffle in the PCC would be held soon keeping in view the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he told reporters here.
On the recent ruckus in the state assembly created by the Congress, Bajwa said his party legislators were provoked leading to the protest inside and outside the House.
To a question, he said there was no factionalism in the state Congress.
A large number of party workers received him at the railway station on his arrival by the Shatabdi Express.
Bajwa visited the Golden Temple and the Durgiana Temple and offered prayers.
