A delegation of six serving Bangladesh Army officers and 30 'Mukti Jodhas' (freedom fighters) from the neighbouring country would be in Kolkata next week for a four-day celebration of 'Vijay Diwas'.
The Bangladesh delegation, led by their food minister Md Qamrul Islam, will be recounting their experiences during the 1971 liberation war which resulted in the creation of Bangladesh, Major General A S Bedi said.
India's military victory over Pakistan in the war on December 16 in 1971 is celebrated as 'Vijay Diwas' (Victory Day) every year.
This year's celebrations will begin with a military band concert at Princep Ghat tomorrow and on 16th war veterans, 'Mukti Jodhas' retired officers will pay homage to the martyrs at Fort William, the headquarters of the Eastern Command.
This will be followed by a horse show, sky diving and band display at RCTC grounds.
The wife and son of Param Vir Chakra winner Lance Naik Albert Ekka, who sacrificed his life in the war, will also be facilitated at the program.
