: The Book Sellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI), organisers of the annual book fair, have requested the Tamil Nadu Government to allot land for conducting the exposition.
"This event has been successful every year. Compared to last year, we expect about 30,000 books to be released in this year's event. We request the Tamil Nadu Government to allot land as due to lack of space, we have not allowed over 100 participants", BAPASI President M Meenakshi Somasundaram told reporters here.
The organisers have decided to conduct the 38th edition of the Book Fair, scheduled to begin from January nine, at the YMCA Grounds, Nandanam, due to lack of space.
Somasundram said noted ISRO scientist Mylswamy Annadurai would inaugurate the event, which would conclude on Jan 21."We expect at least 10 lakh footfalls during this year's event", he said.
