Base metals soften on lower global trend

Base metal prices drifted up to Rs 3 per kg on the local non-ferrous base metals market today on stockists selling in line with a weak global trend.
Traders said a weak global trend in base metals after manufacturing slowed in China, the world's largest user of base metals mainly dampened the sentiment.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months slid 0.4 per cent to USD 7,035 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4x4) fell by Rs 2 and Rs 3 to Rs 433 and Rs 1,065-1,066, zinc ingot traded lower by the same margin to Rs 115-121 per kg, respectively.
Lead ingot and lead imported also traded lower by similar margin to Rs 138 and Rs 136 per kg, respectively.
In line with a general weak trend, aluminium ingot, aluminium sheet cutting, aluminium wire scrap and aluminium utensils were too enquired lower by Rs 2 each to Rs 146, Rs 147, Rs 149 and Rs 146 per kg, respectively.
The following are today's metal rates per kg:
Zinc ingot 115-121, nickel plate (4x4) 1,065-1,066 gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 433, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 138,lead imported 136, aluminium ingots 146, Aluminium sheet cutting 147, aluminium wire scrap 149 and aluminium utensils scrap 146.
