After an unbeaten five-match streak, former champions Atletico de Kolkata have lost two of their last three matches but their Spanish forward Juan Belencoso shrugged off the talks of inconsistency and was bullish about ISL semifinals.
"You cannot win every match. Sometime you lose, sometime you win. Every match is important for all teams. We played well in Pune. The most important thing is we are in top four. All the teams also fighting to win," the 35-year-old Spaniard said ahead of their match in Delhi Sunday.
The inaugural edition of champions tasted their first success against Delhi Dynamos when they secured a 1-0 win en route to their first home win of the season three riding on a 'lucky' penalty.
The veteran Spanish striker rated Delhi as one of the best teams of the franchise league.
"They are one of the best teams of ISL. They have very fast players and good technique but we have confidence to win anywhere. We are focussing on our game."
Asked about his role in the team which boasts of the forward duo of Helder Postiga and Iain Hume, he said: "Hume and Postiga are very professional players. I'm ready to contribute for the team want for me."
However he the defenders to step up as they have conceded eight goals from as many matches.
"We are good but at times we make some mistakes and we lose point."
Asked whether they feel intimidated by the towering presence of Delhi's French recruit Florent Malouda, he said, "Malouda is a great player. He is strong. But we cannot focus on any one player. That's most important for us. It's about making the final.
