BJP's West Bengal unit president Rahul Sinha today urged the state administration to take steps against Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind leader Siddiqullah Chowdhury for making provocative comments against the police and for trying to disturb communal harmony.
Sinha said that a few days back Chowdhury told a rally in Burdwan that police officials should be frisked before they entered the madarasas across the state.
"This is a heinous comment. The police should take immediate take action against chowdhury," Sinha told reporters here.
Chowdhury had said while addressing the rally, "Some bearded criminals are involved in the Burdwan bomb blast and this should not be used to malign the entire madrasa system and the police should be searched before they enter the premises."
Sinha alleged that the Jamiat Ulema-e Hind along with TMC was trying to disturb communal harmony in the state and said this had to be stopped.
