The music video, shot primarily in New Orleans, also features a cameo from Beyonce and Jay Z's 4-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.
"Formation" is written by Swae Lee from Rae Sremmurd.
The video starts with Beyonce on top of a police car in a flooded street and cuts to a man holding a newspaper with Martin Luther King Jr's face on the cover with the title "The Truth."
