The incident occurred yesterday when Divya Dwivedi (28) and her sibling Shivya (21) were relaxing in a room when the thief, later identified as Sanjay Thakur entered their house, Shahpura police station incharge Renu Murab told PTI today.
When the accused picked up the laptop and started to flee , the sisters spotted him and gave him a chase, he said.
"They overpowered Thakur after some distance and raised an alarm, following which locals rushed to their aid. Thakur was then handed over to police and booked under the charge of housebreaking," Murab said.
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur today visited the house in sector 1 of the area and praised them for their heroic act. He said they would be felicitated with bravery awards soon.
