Bifurcation of J&K into UT comes in for praise in Puducherry
A cross-section of people in Puducherry, including businessmen, on Monday welcomed the Centre scrapping Article 370 according special status to Jammu and Kashmir and the bifurcation of the state into two Union Territories, it is a "step in the right direction." saying
N Venkataramani, a financial consultant and insurance planner, said the Home Minister deserves to be praised "wholeheartedly by all patriotic citizens."

C Balou, a businessman, said "the Union Home Minister has come out with bold and laudable announcements. In a democracy balance is very important and now with the scrapping of Article 370 Jammu and Kashmir has been brought on par with the rest of the country."
Palanivelu, a taxi-driver said the Centre "had done good service to the people."
