Bihar poll results will have effect on Centre: Babulal Marandi

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi today claimed that the outcome of the Bihar assembly poll would certainly have an impact on the Union Government, which has miserably failed to deliver on all front during its 17-month tenure.
The outcome of the Bihar poll in favour of 'Grand Alliance' of JD(U), RJD and Congress will certainly have an impact on the Union Government, Marandi, who is also the President of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik), told newsmen here tonight.
Bihar is an important state and BJP has involved its entire cabinet for campaigning. Hence, the impact on the government was certain, in case the BJP-led coalition lost as predicted by majority of the post-poll surveys, Marandi said.

Marandi regretted that the election campaigning in Bihar turned out to be at the lowest level ever including the language that too from a party like BJP.
Marandi said he was once part of BJP and listened to the speeches of BJP senior leaders such as former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee, L K Advani etc, who had maintained the decorum of the campaigning.
BJP had lost majority of the seats wherever Modi had campaigned in the last assembly polls in Jharkhand, he said, citing example of Jermundi in Dumka, Chaibasa in West Singhbhum, Chandwa in Latehar.

Referring to the post-poll surveys regarding Bihar poll, Marandi expressed confidence that Nitish Kumar-headed dispensation of 'Grand Alliance' will be formed with a majority.

Turning to Jharkhand, Marandi said while corruption in the state has shot up, the law and order situation was in bad shape during the last ten-month rule of Chief Minister Raghuvar Das.
Criminal activities in the state has recorded increase by 35 per cent during the last ten month of Das regime, he alleged adding development was on reverse gear ever since the BJP government came to power.
No work in the state would be done unless one would pay levy to the officials, Naxals, he alleged adding that the state was running on "manage system".
Marandi said three IAS officers were deputed on dual charge including in Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi, which could be well managed by a officer of Deputy Collector rank.

Similarly, assuring to provide employment to about 514 innocent persons mostly tribals, the senior most police officers had made them to surrender after branding them naxals in the state only to earn accolades but the government had forced to release them only after a lawyer had filed a PIL in Jharkhand High Court.
Claiming that these are all instances of corruption, Marandi demanded a judicial enquiry by a sitting judge of Jharkhan High Court to punish the 'guilty.
