The Jharkhand unit of the BJP's farmers' wing, Kisan Morcha, will observe 'Maha Parv' on Tuesday to celebrate state government's 'Mukhya Mantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana' (MMKAY).
The Direct Benefit Transfer scheme was launched by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu here on August 10.
"Kisan Morcha leaders will fan out across the mandal level to observe the 'Maha Parv'," the BJP's farmers' wing state president Jyotiresver Singh told PTI here on Monday.
Singh said as part of the programme, Kisan Morcha leaders will distribute sweets among the farmers.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started PM-Kisan Yojana and Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das took it forward by adding MMKAY to it, under which amounts between Rs 5,000 and Rs 25,000 will be directly transferred to bank accounts of farmers," he said.
Singh said farmers are happy with the scheme.
He said a team of women farmers will now visit Israel to learn modern farming technologies, after a male farmer team from the state visited the middle-eastern nation for the same.
The Vice President had launched the MMKAY, transferring cash amounts into the bank accounts of over 13 lakh farmers of the state.
The first installment under the scheme cost the state over Rs 442 crore, officials said.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries with farm lands from less than one acre to five acres will get amounts between Rs 5000 and Rs 25,000.
