Coordinator of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee minority cell Mohammad Saleem and its spokesman SM Saud Hasan told reporters said that at least 945 communal riots have taken place between 2005 and 2013 after the BJP came to power in Madhya Pradesh.
"As a mark of protest, we are going to hold a massive dharna at Roshanpura tomorrow in protest against the growing violence against minorities," they told reporters.
Saleem alleged that the BJP government in the state was protecting the activists of right wing Hindu organisations, "who had unleashed a reign of terror on the minorities in the name of love jihad, religious conversions and 'ghar wapsi' (re-conversions to Hindu faith from other religions)."
