BJP leader Birender Singh today launched an all out offensive against Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and charged him for taking the state backwards and bringing disrepute to the state by indulging in land scams.
Singh, who recently joined BJP after snapping four-decade old ties with Congress, alleged that Hooda has "monopolised" things in the Congress's state unit.
"In the last ten years, Hooda has finished Congress in Haryana and taken it backwards," he alleged.
He also alleged that the Hooda government was involved in a massive land scam in Gurgaon.
Singh claimed that BJP would create history by storming to power in Haryana after the upcoming assembly polls.
"Winds of change are blowing in Haryana. People want to see a BJP government and the party will form the government on its own," he told reporters here.
He claimed that more leaders will desert the Congress's sinking ship to join other parties once the poll dates are announced.
Notably, in the recent times, a number of Congress leaders, a few of them senior leaders from the state, have quit the ruling outfit.
He also accused the Hooda government of regional bias.
Replying to a question, Singh said he had joined BJP "unconditionally", but would abide by the party's decision if asked to contest the forthcoming polls.
Singh had lost the 2009 assembly polls from Uchana Kalan seat to former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala by a close margin.
