Over 50 corrupt officials were sent behind bar on corruption charges ever since the Jharkhand government launched war against corruption nine month ago, a senior BJP leader said today.
"Over 50 tainted officials were arrested after the Anti-Corruption Bureau probe and the sleuths also put a rein over the chit fund trade in the state," East Singhbhum district President of BJP, Nandji Prasad told a press conference here.
Prasad, who highlighted the achievements of Raghuvar Das-led NDA government on the completion of one year in power, was accompanied by spokesman Anil Modi and Mukul Mishra.
The leaders said the slogan 'Jharkhand Sarkar ka varsh ek, faisley anek' (government's one year in power, decisions several) itself spoke volumes about the achievements of the government.
He said World Bank has also recognized the government's initiative and ranked the mineral-rich state third in the country on "ease to doing business".
The state was also ranked fourth in the list of fast developing state after Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, he said adding that Single Window system implemented by the government 12-year after it was conceptualized was a big achievement as it would encourage investment in the state.
Apart from Single Window system, he said Jharkhand became the first state to implement "single sign on for-ease of doing business.
Elaborating further, Prasad said a single sign in a comprehensive form would provide all required clearances including departments like Industry, commerce, labor, Industrial area development authority and state pollution control council while the state had plans to incorporate some more departments in it.
The government has also introduced two shift study in all universities and colleges with an objective to enable students, who were unable to get admissions due to low marks as well as to provide opportunities for those students deprived of seeking higher education in the state, he said.
Setting up of a Sports University, foundation of Indian Agriculture Research Institutie in Hazaribagh, direct interaction with people by the chief minister, implementation of food security act, infrastructure development across sectors were among the long list of achievement of the state in a short span of one year, he added.
