"All these proposals about the rope way, sea planes and amphibious vehicles are merely an eye wash. Nothing is going to materialise here.
"Goa tourism is trying to compete internationally, while it should actually concentrate on its own strengths," Lobo told reporters, a day after tourism department approved the rope-way.
The BJP legislator said the tourism department should focus on improving basic infrastructure like roads and cleanliness on beaches, before trying their hand at such proposals.
The priority is to make the state safe for tourists. We need to see that incidents like rape does not occur here, he added.
