BJP may fall short of majority in Jharkhand, while the opposition People's Democratic Party is projected to emerge as a single-largest party in Jammu and Kashmir, a pre-poll survey has projected.
The survey says that in Jharkhand assembly polls, BJP is predicted to win 29-35 seats in the 81-member House.
In Jammu and Kashmir, PDP is projected to win 27 to 33 seats in a House of 87 to emerge as the single largest party. The India TV-C Voter tracking poll said BJP may emerge as the second largest party with a seat range of 23-29 in J and K.
53 per cent of the respondents favoured PDP leader Mufti Mohammed Sayeed as their chief ministerial candidate in Jammu and Kashmir, while in Jharkhand present incumbent Hemant Soren was the frontrunner with 41 per cent of the respondents supporting him as the next CM, a press release from India TV said here.
