"Notices were also issued against T Raja Singh Lodh, who represents Goshamahal Assembly constituency here, and Mohammed Abdul Majid of DJS, directing them to appear before police as per the provisions of section 41A of CrPC," Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone) V Satyanarayana said.
According to police, on May 7, Raja Singh had given an interview to a local Telugu news channel, in which he had allegedly said the Old City of Hyderabad is "mini Pakistan" and that he is "preparing a private Army (Prathyeka Sainyam) and training the youth with the weapons to fight with others".
Subsequently, Mohammed Abdul Majid conducted mass drill with arms and lathis yesterday at a ground and gave "provocative" speeches to the participants and polluting the minds of the youth and that could cause disturbance to the peace and public order in the society, police said.
According to police, he had been conducting these classes since April 23 for volunteers/members and youths in the name of self-defence.
"Due to the acts of Raja Singh and Mohammed Abdul Majid, there is every possibility to promote enmity among the persons, subsequently disruption of public order and also threat to the public safety and security," the senior police officer said.
"Another case was registered under section 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion) of IPC at Mirchowk Police station against the BJP legislator and notices under section 41 A CrPC has been served on them for committing cognisable offence," the DCP added.
