The issue saw heated exchange of words between treasury and opposition benches forcing Speaker Yoganand Shastri to adjourn the House for twice before adjourning it for the day.
Raising the issue in the Assembly, Congress MLA and Chairperson of Delhi Commission of Women Barkha Singh slammed Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel's allegations that Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was behind filing of the "false case" against party MLA Ramesh Bidhuri.
The incident took place on March 7 in the office of Department of Urban Development at Delhi Secretariat when the MLA went there to check development work in his constituency.
Bidhuri alleged that the woman employee did not cooperate and refused to listen to him. This resulted in an argument between the two. After the incident, the woman employee informed the incident to the Urban Development Secretary R K Srivastava.
Subsequently an FIR was filed against Bidhuri.
However, in a letter to Srivastava yesterday, the woman said she did not want to pursue the case against Bidhuri as he sought apology from her for the incident.
"I am under tremendous mental tension and pressure from my family and relatives...Further Ramesh Bidhuri has repeatedly apologised and felt sorry for the unfortunate incident...I do not want any further action on my complaint," she said.
"She did not want to file the complaint. But she was told that if she does not file the complaint then she will be suspended," Bidhuri claimed.
Leader of Opposition V K Malhotra said the government "deliberately" tried to defame Bidhuri for "political gains".
