Raising the issue during zero hour, BJP member Kalicharan Saraf said, 27 trucks loaded with cattle were intercepted by people in Mansarovar area in the city on August 27 and police only registered cases under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and did not press criminal charges.
Chaotic scenes prevailed in the House for about 30 minutes as CPI(M) member Amraram accused BJP members for creating ruckus in the name of cattle.
The atmosphere got further charged with Congress and BJP members trading charges and Chief Whip Raghu Sharma terming the entire debate by BJP as "politically motivated".
As Minister of state for Home Virendra Beniwal urged opposition members not to emphasis the incident too much and avoid politics, Kataria and other BJP members raised slogans and walked out of the House.
