BJP, which is leaving no stone unturned to form its first government in Jammu and Kashmir, has launched a high-pitch poll campaign for the 20 seats in Jammu region which will go to polls in the fourth and final phase of elections in the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address four rallies in Jammu region beginning tomorrow.
The 20 constituencies in Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri and Samba districts are crucial for the BJP to realise its target of "Mission 44 plus" seats in the state.
Apart from top leadership, including the Prime Minister and Amit Shah, BJP has pushed in several film stars and cricketer-turned-politicians.
"We want to have all the seats in fourth and final phase of elections in Jammu region. In this direction, we are going full throttle with all top leaderships and film actors in campaigning to woo the voters towards BJP to form a majority government in JK," BJP spokesman, Arun Gupta told PTI.
Prime Minister Modi, during his three visits, has addressed five public rallies covering various parts of Kishtwar area of Chenab valley region, Udhampur, Poonch, Srinagar and Samba districts of the NC-Cong ruled state.
Modi will address two rallies in Kathua and Rajouri tomorrow and is likely to address two more rallies in Jammu and Basholi on December 16, party leaders said.
Those who are campaigning or will campaign in the state include Union Ministers Arun Jaitlay, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Smriti Irani, J P Nadda, Shri Pal Nayak, Piyush Goyal, Jintendra Singh, besides Navjot Singh Sidhu, Hima Malini, Vinod Khanna, Preeti Sapru, Avinash Thakur and other leaders.
Arun Jaitley will arrive tomorrow to campaign in Jammu and Rajnath Singh and J P Nadda will follow him later.
"These seats are very important for us, so we are using all force to woo the voters towards BJP," Gupta said.
In 2008 Assembly polls, BJP had bagged 10 seats among the 20 seats in Jammu, Rajouri and Kathua districts going to polls in last phase of elections on December 20, while Congress had got 5 seats and two by NC.
