Addressing a rally here, Punjab state president of BSP Avtar Singh Karimpuri said, "Instead of just paying lip service to victims of Abohar incident, BJP should walk out of its alliance with SAD, paving the way for collapse of the feudal SAD's citadel of power."
"If BJP does not snap ties with Akalis on the issue, then it will be clear that it is also an equal partner in atrocities on dalits in Punjab, including the horrible Abohar incident," said Karimpuri.
Karimpuri also called upon all organisations named after Dr B R Ambedkar and other dalit icons as well as intellectuals to join BSP and work towards bringing it to power in Punjab.
A 27-year-old Dalit man at Abohar died after his limbs were chopped off by suspected henchmen of an Akali Dal leader.
