Amid violent protests and stone-pelting attacks in the Valley, BJP today requested parents to prevent their children from any indulgence in disturbing activities.
"It is the duty of every family in the Kashmir valley to see that their teenagers do not indulge in disturbing the situation which might result in loss of life and damage to property," Jammu and Kashmir BJP said in a statement here.
Terming the ongoing unrest in the Valley as "unfortunate", the party held separatists and "anti-national" elements responsible for disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of Kashmir.
"The leaders including state president Sat Sharma, MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Shamsher Singh Manhas and other senior leaders held a discussion and termed it unfortunate that the peaceful atmosphere in the Valley was disturbed by anti-national elements and separatists," a party spokesperson said.
The party leaders termed the elimination of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani as a "commendable achievement" of the security forces.
"Wani carried a prize of Rs 10 lakh on his head and no right thinking person can term his killing in an encounter with security forces as an excessive use of force," they said in the statement.
The party president said that the BJP ministers have been asked to remain stationed in Srinagar to keep a close watch on the administration and manage the situation with utmost care.
