The Uttar Pradesh government should announce sugarcane price immediately and fix the rate at Rs 425 per quintal, BKU General Secretary Rakesh Tikait said at the dharna yesterday.
A 20-point memorandum in this regard was sent to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav through the district authorities here, he said, adding the dharna would continue on the second day today.
