Block Medical Officer beaten up by mob in Manikchawk

The Block Medical Officer Health (BDMO) of Manikchawk in Malda district was today beaten up by a mob before he was rescued by the police.
BDMO Joydeb Majumdar was beaten up by a mob when he went to the Block Hospital, police said.
The mob was protesting the death of a new born baby at the Block Hospital last night.
The mob alleged the last night a woman Anita Mondal was rushed to the Block Hospital with labour pain. But there was no doctor on duty at the hospital due to which her new born baby died.
