Two minor girls drowned today after a country-made boat capsized in Gandak river in Bihar's East Champaran district, police sources said.
The mishap took place as the ill-fated boat ferrying five girls lost control and capsized in mid-stream of the river, the sources said.
While two girls, identified as Sabita Kumari (10) and Rani Kumari (12) drowned, three others swam to safety, they said.
The bodies have been fished out and sent for post-mortem at the Sadar hospital, the sources added.
