Another fisherman is still missing.
According to Nagapattinam Joint Director of Fisheries M Subburaj, three fishermen - Kalidoss (22), Kalaipandi (19) and Vineeth (19), all belonging to Vellapallam fishing village, ventured into the sea for fishing on Wednesday from Vedaranyam in a fibreglass boat.
They should have returned back to the shore on Thursday.
Since they did not return, Nagapattinam coast guard personnel launched a search operation along with the local fishermen on Thursday.
Their fishing boat was washed ashore near Vellapallam last night.
The bodies were retrieved.
A search is on for Kalaipandi.
