Body of forester found at Daringbadi government quarter

The police has recovered the body of a forester in a pool of blood and found another forest department official in a critical condition at a government quarter at Daringbadi in Odisha's Kandhamal district.
The body of the forester belonged to Banita Digal who was posted in Sonepur forest section in the Balliguda forest division in the district, K L Behera, Inspector-in-Charge of Daringbadi police station, said.
Her body was found at the official quarter of another lady forester Nibedita Lenka last evening under mysterious circumstances, Behera said.
The police also rescued Brundaban Lenka, a subordinate forest department staff of the Raikia area in a serious condition from the same spot. Lenka was admitted to the MKCG Medical College hospital, Berhampur.

According to a preliminary investigation by the police, some forest department employees had a community lunch at around two PM yesterday at the official quarter of Nibedita Lenka where the deceased forest official was staying.
The police quoted local people as saying that the body of the lady forester was found after they had lunch. The injured subordinate forest staff was found screaming with pain and profuse bleeding.
An FIR was lodged with the Daringbadi police station by Chittaranjan Dehury, a fourth grade employee of Daringbadi forest office.
Both the persons bore multiple injury marks. The police also seized a blood-stained dagger from the spot.
