Body of youth fished out from Jhelum river

Body of a youth, who went missing last month, was fished out from river Jhelum near here, prompting police to start inquest proceedings.
28-year-old Adil Ahmad Wani, a resident of Galib Abad near HMT, went missing on May 14 and his body was fished out from river Jhelum at Shivpora under Ram Munshi Bagh police station here, a police spokesman said.
He said the body was recovered late last evening and handed over to his kin for last rites after completion of legal formalities.
Police have started investigation under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of death, the spokesman added.
