Bollywood makes a beeline for 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' premiere

As a tribute to Chopra, the screening turned out to be a starry event at the Yash Raj Films studio at Andheri in suburban Mumbai this evening.

Chopra's wife Pamela, son Uday and lead cast of 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' - Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, were seen welcoming the guests.

Among those who attended the gala premiere were Amitabh Bachchan with wife Jaya, son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya, Rekha, Dilip Kumar and his wife Saira Banu.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan said, "We are excited to see the film. We thank the family for this premiere. I am sure Yashji would have liked this."

Remembering the 'king of romance', Uday, son of the legendary filmmaker said, "As a family, we have mourned but now we have to celebrate. This is his last film. My dad was about beauty. We have not left any stone unturned. What you see today is amazing. Nobody has done this before".

Shahrukh Khan, who is playing the lead in JTHJ, said Chopra's legacy ought to be celebrated. "We are missing him immensely...We are missing him every moment. I hope everybody enjoys the film. It is a moment of celebration for us. His legacy has been wonderfully celebrated," he told reporters.

Tinsel town divas from the yore and contemporary times turned out in large numbers to attend the event.

Actors Vinod Khanna, Aamir Khan with wife Kiran Rao, Sridevi with husband Boney Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Randhir Kapoor, Imran Khan, Hrithik Roshan with wife Suzzane, Rajiv Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, filmamkers Ramesh Sippy, Karan Johar, Rakesh Roshan, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Sooraj Barjatiya, R Balki with wife Gauri also attended the event.

Also spotted on the occasion were actors Bipasha Basu, Parineeti Chopra, lyricist Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Jeetendra, Anil Kapoor with daughter Sonam, Arjun Kapoor, Raj Kumar Hirani, Akshay Kumar with wife Tina, Shahid Kapoor among others.
