Bootlegger arrested with 27 bottles of illicit liquor

Police today claimed to have arrested a bootlegger and seized 27 bottles of illicit liquor from him.
A patrolling party apprehended Rakesh Kumar, alias Ricky, from Bulla Rai crossing on Phagwara-Chandigarh bypass last night, after 27 bottles of illicit liquor were found in his possession, a police official said.
A case under relevant sections of the Excise Act was registered against the accused, the official added.
