The Brus are now lodged in Kaskau relief camp in North Tripura district.
The identification process, commencing from yesterday, was the beginning of the Bru repatriation process while the physical repatriation was scheduled to begin from November 30 in accordance with the Road Map-V for Bru repatriation.
The officials identified 581 people belonging to 83 families yesterday of which 457 families were originally from Mizoram-Tripura border Mamit district and 25 families originally from the Assam border Kolasib district.
The identification process would continue in Kaskau camp tomorrow, District Deputy Commissioner, Mamit, Lalbiakzangi who supervised the process at the relief camp said.
