Sujata Chougla (39), wife of Shanker hanged herself at her residence near the airport, Aerodrome Road police station sub inspector R K Mitoria said.
The couple had shifted to their house in the BSF residential area near the airport on April 3.
The officer said the BSF jawan had gone to buy tickets when Sujata committed suicide.
She didn't leave any suicide note, he said, adding that the reason which prompted her to take the extreme step is being investigated.
Sujata's body has been sent for postmortem and the case is being investigated.
