BSF strives to create record by planting 2 lakh saplings in 30

The Border Security Force (BSF)-- the country's largest border guarding force -- today set off on a unique record-making mission to plant about two lakh saplings in 30 minutes at its formations spread across the length and breadth of the nation.
BSF chief D K Pathak launched the initiative by planting a sapling at a camp here.
The supervisors and invigilators of Limca book of records were stationed at various locations of the force to record the actual numbers of saplings being planted in 30 minutes, a senior official said.
All frontiers headquarters, sector headquarters, training institutions, battalion headquarters and border outposts were part of the unique drive aimed to promote a clean environment, the officer said.

The BSF guards Indian borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
