Former AGP Minister Bubul Das Monday quit the party in protest against its alliance with the BJP for the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.

Das told reporters here that he has sent his resignation letter to AGP President Atul Bora.

A former MLA from Jagiroad assembly constituency, Das was a cabinet minister in former Chief Minister Prafulla Mahanta's ministry from 1996 to 2000.

A close associate of Mahanta, Das had strongly opposed the Citizens Amendment Bill and also protested against the BJP-AGP alliance of ongoing poll.
