'Builders trying to grab land meant for ST depot in Thane'
The deputy chairman of the Maharashtra legislative council and NCP leader Vasant Davkhare today demanded a probe by the anti-corruption bureau into alleged attempt by builders to grab a plot of land reserved for ST depot.
Davkhare, in a letter to the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, said a 5,000 sq mt plot near Aradhana Cinema in the city was reserved for the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation's depot by the Thane Municipal Corporation in 2002. But the builders' lobby was trying to get the reservation cancelled, and some unauthorised constructions had come up on the plot, he alleged.
