Burdwan blast accused remanded to 14 days police custody

The main accused in the Burdwan blast case Shahnoor Alam was today remanded to 14 days police custody by a court in Kamrup.

Alam, who was arrested yesterday in Nalbari district, was produced in the CJM Court amidst tight security after his interrogation at the Special Branch headquarters of Assam Police today.

The court granted 14 days police custody as sought by the police.

The key suspect in the October 2 last Burdwan blast case and the alleged financial brain of terror group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) identified himself as Shahanoor Alam in court.

Shahanoor was arrested under IPC Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 121 (waging, attempting to wage war or abetting waging of war against Government of India) at Lalkurchi village, under Mukalmua Police Station yesterday.
