Based on a complaint filed by the bank authorities, a case has been registered against unknown persons at Sahibabad police station. The incident came to light this morning when a customer found the machine damaged and alerted police.
The bank branch and the ATM booth is situated opposite Narendra Mohan Hospital. "It might have been executed by technically-sound robbers late last night," Sahibabad SHO Upender Yadav said, adding that "at the time of incident, CCTVs installed in booth were dysfunctional."
Investigators said they are gathering details of the last transaction to ascertain the possible time of robbery.
Police have recorded the branch manager's statement and are investigating case, the SHO said, adding that a manhunt had been launched for the accused.
