"To implement zero tolerance policy on corruption, the ACB had been strengthened and given more autonomy in the state. On the direction of the state government, the agency is carrying out an effectivefight against corruption," Additional Director General of Police (ACB & EOW) Mukesh Gupta told PTI.
According to the ACB, 63 corrupt officials and employees have been booked in the past five years for having assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.
Besides, during the period ACB caught at least 185 officials, including an IAS officer and employees, red-handed accepting bribe.
Bribe money to the tune of Rs 22 lakh were also recovered, the data said.
The agency has also strengthened its information network to gather inputs on corrupt activities, Guptasaid.
Last month, the ACB had conducted simultaneous raids on the premises of nine officials, including three IFS (Indian Forest Service) officials, during which they found illegal assets worth Rs 22 crore.
"It was not for the first time that the agency had conducted such a major raid. In 2011, raids were conducted on the premises of 17 officials, followed by 10 in 2012, three in 2013, seven in 2014, and 17 in 2015," another senior department official said.
