Cabinet nod for renewal of ICAI pact with UAE's HCT

Chartered accountants' apex body ICAI will continue to provide technical assistance to UAE- based Higher Colleges of Technology, with the Cabinet today approving the renewal of pact between the two entities.
The Cabinet has given its ex-post facto approval for the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT).
Apart from providing technical assistance to HCT by reviewing the latter's current curriculum related to accounting and finance, ICAI would also suggest introduction of new courses and modules.
The new courses would facilitate HCT students to write ICAI's technical professional examination with aim to acquire membership of the institute, an official release said.

ICAI will also provide technical assistance in holding its professional examination for qualified HCT students.
According to the release, the institute will collaborate to provide workshops for HCT students and faculty, certification courses for HCT students and also encourage faculty and student exchange programmes, among others.
"HCT and ICAI will collaborate to offer short professional courses in the domain of accounting, finance and audit in UAE via HCT's Centre of Excellence for applied Research and Training (CERT)," the release said.
