"The Cabinet gave an ex post facto approval for award of four projects under NHDP in Jammu & Kashmir...Consequently there is an increase in additional budgetary support from Rs 20,210.10 crore to Rs 28,324.08 crore for award of four projects under NHDP phase II," a source said after the Cabinet meeting here.
"It will also reduce the journey time from Jammu to Srinagar and strategic border areas in the state," he said, adding that these projects will also help uplift the socio-economic condition of the state by restoring connectivity to far-flung areas.
It will also help boost the economy and provide employment potential to locals in project activities, he said.
