To support the demonetisation move and advance the government's vision for 'cashless' India, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) will hold a 2-day 'Less Cash India Summit' from December 2 in New Delhi.
CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said NITI Aayog will share the government's perspective on recent developments on demonetisation and importance of merchant and trader participation in less-cash economy at the summit.
It will also discuss linkage of digital payments in goods and services tax (GST) since electronic payment is one of the core fundamentals of GST.
"We will promote a 10-point plan to make 'less-cash' India a reality," Khandelwal said.
"A less-cash economy will benefit our constituency of around 6 crore small businesses in reaching out to newer markets and consumers."
The initiatives are aimed at promoting the cause of less cash in every state. "The 'Less Cash India Summit' will build and expand on these efforts at this critical moment in India," he said.
