Call warning of bomb blasts at a hotel turns out be a hoax

A phone call that bomb blasts will take place in a prominent hotel in the national capital today send the security officials into a tizzy, police said.
The call was received at the reception of the five-star hotel in New Delhi district at around 7.15 PM. The caller said that explosives have been planted in the parking lot and on the second floor of the building which would go off at 8 PM, a senior police official said, adding that the hotel staff immediately informed the police.
Police teams, including bomb disposal squads, were sent to the spot and a thorough check was conducted but no explosives were found, the official said.
It was a hoax call, he said, adding that the caller has been identified and efforts are on to track him.
