Accusing Narendra Modi government of displacing Sikhs in Gujarat, Congress today asked Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal whether he can assure safety to the Sikh community if BJP comes to power.
PPCC president Shamsher Singh Dullo said, "The chief minister and the Shiromani Akali Dal are canvassing for a leader (Narendra Modi) who has made all preparations to displace Sikhs from Gujarat and in whose regime, a large number of minority people were killed during 2002 riots."
He asked Badal, "Can Badal tell them (minority people) whether they will remain safe during Modi's rule?"
The leader, however, dodged queries on riots in Assam, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
